National Attention for Jay Kartier’s Party Time and I Pray
Rising Reggae star Jay Kartier receives national attention for his singles “Party Time” and “I Pray” with radio play in Vancouver, Alberta, Ontario and Quebec as well as the national music platform Stingray Music.

As one of Canada’s foremost recording artists, Jay Kartier is enjoying the radio and fan attention he is receiving with the successful release of his newest singles “Party Time” featuring Banks, and “I Pray.”  Radio personalities and fans agree that the artist is using the right approach to his music which is to sing lyrics that all people can relate to.  Radio jock George Barrett from 100.5 FM in Vancouver says of the song ‘Party Time’ “as soon as I played the single, fans called asking me to pull up the chune.  DJ Wiz, from VIBE 105.5 FM in Toronto agrees with the success of Jay Kartier adding “the song “I Pray” took off like wildfire.  Jay delivered the song perfectly!”

Fans in Edmonton, Alberta and Montreal, Quebec are also supporting the single.  One fan took to social media to say “Jay’s voice is exactly what I want to hear and his lyrics connect.”

In addition to terrestrial radio, both of Jays singles have been added to rotation on Stingray Music’s Reggae channel called JAMMIN.  Heard by Rogers Cable subscribers across Canada, the specialty music channel is accessible both on TV, and an app which plays the country’s hottest singles.  It is estimated that 500,000 music lovers are subscribed to the service.  About the success of his singles Jay Kartier said “knowing that radio and cable is supporting my songs is great news.  It means that I’m reaching more people which is what I’ve prayed for.”

Jay Kartier is a 2016 JUNO Award nominee for Best Reggae Recording.  He has been performing professionally for the past 10 years and has enjoyed sharing the stage with Demarco (in Toronto and Belize), Movado and Mr. Vegas.  He has performed at several festivals, most notably the Irie Reggae Festival, Woodbine Reggae Festival and Caribbean Day in Durham.
